Dear Friends:
When I studied engineering in college, I learned that to solve a problem, you had to first recognize and define the problem.
Los Angeles has many problems such as: closing bankrupt hospitals, overcrowded failing public schools, gang crime, polluted environment, traffic snarl, sprawl, cultural clashes, deterioration of quality-of-life, negative cash flow -- just to name a few.
Our city leaders when campaigning for political positions promise to fix the said problems, but they are in denial as to what the problems really are. They promise to keep mopping the floor as the sink overflows, but they don't want to fix the leaking sink which is causing the problem in the first place.
Of course, I'm talking about illegal immigration.
As you know, my activism started in earnest five years ago when I launched the MayorNo.com website to oppose Mechista, Antonio Villaraigosa when he ran against James Hahn. With your help at that time (2001), MayorNo was instrumental in defeating Villaraigosa. I didn't support Hahn either, but he was the lesser of two evils at the runoff. The objective of my opposition to Villaraigosa was to win voter recognition of MayorNo so that in the next 2005 election, I could support a candidate who did recognize the problems.
Early this year (2005), Villaraigosa again ran for mayor against a myriad of candidates including incumbent Mayor Hahn who spent his entire term in denial of L.A.'s chief problem. In examining the campaign platforms of all the candidates, only one candidate by the name of Walter Moore emerged who campaigned on many issues, but chief among them, the issue of illegal immigration.
After perusing Walter Moore's website, and meeting him in person, I was convinced that he did in fact recognize illegal immigration as the L.A.'s chief problem. His analysis of L.A.'s problems and how to fix them, made sense to me.
I decided to independently back the charismatic Walter Moore and formed Citizens against Villaraigosa for Mayor. a non-profit political committee with the objective of raising money in order to defeat Villaraigosa. While in a very short time donations poured in, the take was dwarfed by the $2.9 million dollars raised by Antonio Villaraigosa and he won.
But, out of a city of 4 million, only 260,000 votes elected Villaraigosa mayor. In other words, 6.5 % of the population of Los Angeles decided its future. A letter to the Los Angeles Daily News summed it up like this:
Calling Villaraigosa's election a "triumph" is way too big a hammer for the job. I wouldn't be holding a nail for him if he can see a "triumph" in an election where less than 20 percent of the registered voters actually voted for the winner.
When more than two-thirds of an electorate sit out an election, it speaks not of triumphs, but of, at best, how little difference the vast majority could discern between the candidates, and, by extrapolation, how little difference the outcome would make for the impending implosion called Los Angeles. At worst, it means the majority have already mentally packed their bags and have emotionally moved out. I fear it's time to plow it all under and start over.
I have formed a non-profit, non-connected, Political Action Committee (commonly known as a "PAC") to take on fights not only in Los Angeles, but other cities as well. I have chosen the same name for the PAC as its URL: WatchdogAmerica.com which is the successor to LAwatchdog.com (for those who still go to the website using LAwatchdog.com -- don't worry, you'll still get to WatchdogAmerica.com).
For the time being at least, I wear all the hats.
Being non-connected means that I can independently support or oppose any candidate or initiative at all levels of government (in the case of supporting or opposing L.A. candidates or initiatives, I would have no obligations to the L.A. Ethics Committee).
WatchdogAmerica.com is an adversary of: Illegal immigration, Corrupt Politicians, the ACLU, Communists, Socialists, anti-Semites, bigots, racists, America haters, MEChA, and Islamo-fascists.
I have great news: Walter Moore will run for Los Angeles mayor again in 2009 -- and as first priority, WatchdogAmerica.com aims to independently support him.
Past history shows that you can't fight city hall -- at least not while it is being run by the present cabal. The only way to win over city hall is to vote those who run it, out of office -- starting with Antonio Villaraigosa.
When Walter Moore said in his campaign that he supports "Clean Money," Villaraigosa who never heard of Clean Money, jumped on the bandwagon and promised that if he became mayor, he would push for it. Recently, without Villaraigosa's lead, council members Greuel, Garcetti, Cardenas, and Rosendahl have introduced a motion to study Clean Money.
Take the money away from Villaraigosa, and he will surely loose in 2009. That's why it is doubtful that he will keep his campaign promise to support Clean Money (Clean Money applies only to candidates, not PACs).
I have no illusions about the amount of money Villaraigosa will raise if he runs for re-election (I say "if" because Villaraigosa's past history of political climbing even before completing his terms in office, suggests that he might seek another promotion like maybe running for governor or U.S. Senate). And I have no illusions about how much money WatchdogAmerica.com can raise. But as the next mayoral election won't take place until 2009, as a PAC, WatchdogAmerica.com will start raising funds and campaigning for Walter Moore as of today.
I want to emphasize that the removal of Los Angeles politicians from office, who support illegal aliens over American citizens, is a cause for all Americans regardless of where in the U.S. you live.
So please folks, be a regular contributor to WatchdogAmerica.com starting today.
